Greetings,
Netgear r9000 running kong's 37305. Tried updating to beta 41328 (20191015) and the update never completed.
The countdown on the webpage updated went to zero then spun waiting for quite a while. The router wouldn't accept any new web connections to admin interface. I waited 20 minutes and power cycled the router. It rebooted with the original 37305.
I don't want to hammer the router and risk bricking it. Is there a trick to updating it? I used the r9000-webupgrade.bin file.
Unplug the power from the router. Then hold the reset button in while plugging the power in.
Keep reset pressed for 20 seconds. Then you should be able to upload the factory firmware using a tftp client. I use tftp64 by jounin _________________ I am far from a guru, I'm barely a novice.
I'm not trying to go back to factory firmware. I'm trying to get more current in DD-WRT. The version I am running was one of Kong's original builds, under the Alpine directory as I recall. The site is gone so not sure, cant go back and check.
I've never encountered a situation where DD-WRT wouldn't upgrade via the web so I'm not sure what path to take or if the difficulty is because of the build being a special Kong version.

Well, if you can't upgrade via webUI, then you have to either flash via CLI or go back to factory and flash something else. Not that difficult to figure out. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"
