Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r41468 std (11/06/19)
Kernel: Linux 4.14.151 #157 SMP Wed Oct 30 12:53:50 +04 2019 mips
Previous: DD-WRT v3.0-r41375 std (10/22/19)
Reset: Yes /No
Mode: Gateway / AP
Uptime: ~ 1 hour
Status: accessible only when wireless is disabled Issues / Errors: Webgui is unacceptable after a few minutes. When trying to reboot from telnet nothing happens.
What I've noticed is during the configuration of the Wireless security, i choose wpa2 personal with ccmp-128 (AES) and pressed Apply Setting, every time the router stop responding, no ping. the only way to restart it is with power off and power on again.
when it's on again the configuration is applied but after a while it stops responding.
what I've also noticed was by status > wireless > Wireless Packet Info, Packets were only transmitted. the Received ones stayed 0.
the last thing I've tried, suspecting something is wrong with the wireless was turning it out through Wireless Network Mode > Disabled.
Since then is the router online and responding, the webgui is accessible.
the problem is i use it as an AP and wireless connection is necessary.
I suspect something is wrong with the wireless stack.

From what I am gathering, it seems to be an nvram variable issue (the use of ath* for wireless interface names?), but how to fix it would take some time and I would need two of them - one on stock firmware or a much older build and one with this build to see what is 'broken', perhaps. This is f*cking sad. Anyhow, not sure if you have read any of the information below, but feel free if you haven't:

Hmm. The MediaTek/Ralink builds are using an older toolchain. Wonder if that is anything of consequence.

I'm wondering you said the last working build you've used was r40559?!
All builds after r39296 are now using a mac80211 based driver (=> athX), instead of the closed source driver (=> wlX).
I don't remember any build was working with the new one.

yes, i'm using r40559 right now.
I'm trying every new build that comes out, and when the router stop responding, which mostly happens when a device connects to it via WiFi, i revert it back to r40559
