OpenVPN CLIENT works fine (nordvpn server)

2.4GHz wpa2 CCMP-128 (AES)working fine 20MHz Mixed
NAS via USB Samba also working fine
Been running for about 3 hours so far in my case, so far, so good.
Upgraded WRT1200AC v1 from r41380 to r41418 using Waterfox Classic 2019.10 (64 bit) running on Linux Mint 19.1 OS.
Successful update and reboot. No reset, nothing disabled prior to update, up-time about 2 hrs, wired/wireless connected, vpn up immediately. No drops wired/wireless or vpn. I do NOT use QoS or NAS.
No GUI hangs with this or the previous two releases for me with 48+ hrs on r41380, several days on priors. I intentionally, rapidly jumped around in the GUI, enabled/disabled vpn client and wireless with no hangs. DNSMasq and VPN passthrough working as expected.
Only thing unusual was the main GUI headers were blue (same as tabs) with square corners when the first GUI page came up. It looked odd but didn't register that it was different until I clicked another tab after which the headers came up with the normal grey with rounded corners. Could not get the blue headers again after initial first page. No hangups with the initial blue header color being the only unusual GUI behavior. Could have been the new update to Waterfox took time to format properly???

Webflashed from build r40009 with Firefox. No reset.
Everything appears to be working. My main issue has been a loss of access to the GUI in all builds since r40009 so will keep my fingers crossed.
This is the first build in memory that actually rebooted back into the GUI after the flash. The rest all gave me "page not found" errors after the reboot but refreshing the dd-wrt address worked. Maybe going to it immediately is a good sign. We'll see.

I found that error to be common on my 1200's prior to an internet connection being established. My update routine is . . once I see the "Update successful" message . . I ignore the screen and look at the router lights. Don't do anything, expect the "page not found" message.
When all lights are blue (the internet is orange prior to connect) return to the screen which will have the "page not found" and click the router connect again. The GUI will then come up. (I have router buttons on my bookmark toolbar your method may differ??)
This is on my 1200's but may be the same for 1900/3200 router?? Next update give it a try.
I would prefer the router boot right to the GUI but mine never do so I use this method to keep myself from assuming the update failed and doing unnecessary diagnostics. =)
I've also wondered if trying to pull up the GUI before the router finishes booting completely could be corrupting the GUI????
I think it was just coincidence that it booted back to the router GUI. What you said is what I meant. I just click the router link again and it opens the GUI just fine. I just happened to notice that the GUI came back up this time and hoped it was a good omen. lol

That has been an awful two hours of misery. I must be doing something wrong.
Updated 3200's from r41380 -> r41418 without problem but as I was having troubles with the 1200 and 1900's V1's I eventually lost gui access to both 3200's.
I believe a lot of the problems with gui access may be related to IE11 as the upgrades were a complete nightmare with it.
First off no wrt's would upgrade from IE11 but the 3200's did upgrade properly when I used EDGE (BETA). However when I upgraded the 1200 and 1900's I bricked both and had to do a power 3 restore. Once that was done and after numerous upgrade failures trying to get a working router I eventually put r35898 on both partitions on the 1200 & 1900's. Not sure if it was r41318 0r r41418 that scrambled my boot partitions but regardless I don't want to repeat that exercise. Simple loss of gui wasn't a serious issue as I always suspected IE11 incompatability but bricking the routers is. I tend to leave the gui's active constantly on IE11 and sometimes it is as much as days before I lose gui access on the later builds but today was, as I said, an absolute nightmare. _________________ Starlink & DSL -> TPLink TL-R470T+

Sorry to hear about these problems. I keep hoping each succeeding build will fix my problems with loss of GUI. I've just been running this one a few hours. My guess is it's to do with the new linux kernel or addition of the new QoS disciplines since those were added after r40009. That's the last good build for me.
I don't use Internet Explorer browser at all but how do you keep the GUI active? Wouldn't you need something to auto-refresh the page constantly? I found an add-on for Chrome and Firefox that can do that but not IE.

I don't worry about refresh, as I often allow the system to sleep. When I need to check the status of any or all routers I simply refresh as needed. I use EDGE (BETA) for most of my web browsing and such and keep IE11 available for the routers. Having the home page set to all the routers makes it convenient to quickly check the status when I need. Also have IE11 set to open on a separate monitor so as to avoid distracting from my primary work. This setup has worked well up to and including r40009 but anything later, well the numerous posts speak to that. The only saving grace to the problems being encountered by others is that there has been considerable improvements in WiFi, Qos, VPn and other trouble spots. For me these improvements don't matter as I try to keep it simple.Being on a DSL line with a maximum download of 7 makes the enhanced features just another bottleneck I don't need. _________________ Starlink & DSL -> TPLink TL-R470T+

Something strange happened, can anyone else reproduce this?
If I go to Status>Wireless and click on a client to flow chart monitor, after closing that chart window, my wrt3200 began to drop connections globally causing me to hard-boot the router to recover. Doesn't seem to happen every time. Anyone else notice this? (see graphic)

The only insight i can offer on this is i think it has to do with the wireless driver.
I have some older devices around here that run in legacy and if they are connected for a long enough time it seems that they cause issues with wifi none stop but if those devices are not on the wireless things seem to run smooth as glass.... One of the issues that happens in my case is on this 1900ac it will cause the bridge radio to go to 2mb tx and what ever rx... but there is no throughput 2 things fix this either go click apply so it makes the wireless radio restart Or cycle the router Lucky for me they rarely get used so its not a constant problem but you can bet every time they are in use im going to have problems often.
atho being the bridge and ath0.1 being the VAP _________________ Downloads:
