Again lost access to the GUI overnight with QoS turned off so it's apparently nothing to do with that. It seems to mostly happen when there's little router activity.

I don't really know what i'm looking at but "top" doesn't seem to show anything unusual. The httpd process is only taking up 0.4 % of cpu

For me, I've had this build running for almost 70 hours and it has been the most stable build in months. Faster routing speeds as well. Certainly a build to use as a benchmark.

WOW...I thought it was the WiFi...As you have it enabled and have no issues that is really perplexing?
Mine has been up 66 hours and is still fast and responsive.

hah. I was planning on disabling my wifi in the next couple of days to test your theory since disabling QoS didn't make any difference.

Like I've said, I don't have many services running at all. If I clear the nvram, I install a new firmware, set it to use cloudflare DNS rather than my ISP, disable the shortcut forwarding engine and set the time zone on the main setup page. I set up basic wifi and it's security, and use QoS. That's it. I do set up a vpn client but don't normally have that turned on.

Mlandi is using a different router though, the 3200 and mine's the 1900acs v1. Others have noted loss of GUI with routers different from mine though. There's also a ticket filed for similar problems with d-link routers for instance.

I might add when I do lose the GUI lately rather than reboot I've been killing the httpd process and letting it restart. That brings the GUI back up. Nothing in the system log seems to indicate any problem.

Ellick,

You're not using Chrome are you?
I know Chrome has been an issue for installing DD.

I have SFE Enabled

No. I've used Chrome in the past but have been installing with the latest Firefox builds for some time now.

SFE enabled is the default but I've read many threads saying to turn it off if you're getting full bandwidth without it. I guess it's something else to try though.

Just for an extra dataset, mine has been up for 57 hours and I've had no issues accessing GUI. I know mine is a 3200ACM not 1900ACS v1.

I use WiFi, SFE, VPN, PBR, static leases, MAC whitelist, and a 2.4GHz VAP guest network. I don't use QoS.

I use Chrome (stable) 64-bit for everything, and I only have HTTPS checked in Administration.

The router freezes after 36 hours of continuous use. Internet has become unavailable as is access to WEB. Reboot on SSH.
Below is the daily configuration. From the unusual - only Unbound - it has been upgraded to 1.9.4. - turned on for verification. Now I turned it off, I usually use DNSCrypt2.

Only what is included, obvious options are missing:
--
Use DNSMasq for DNS: On
DHCP-Authoritative: On
Recursive DNS Resolving (Unbound): On
--
Static Leases - 5 ip
Dnsmasq -- Enable
Cache DNSSEC data -- Enable
Validate DNS Replies (DNSSEC) -- Enable
Check unsigned DNS replies -- Enable
Local DNS -- Enable
No DNS Rebind -- Enable
Query DNS in Strict Order -- Enable
--
Wi-Fi 2-5 customer episodes.
ath0 [5 GHz/802.11ac]: AC/N-Mixed, Dynamic (20/40 MHz)
--U-APSD (Automatic Power Save) -- Enable
--Single User Beamforming -- Enable
--Multicast To Unicast -- Enable
ath1 [2.4 GHz TurboQAM]: N-Only (2,4 GHz), Full (20 MHz)
--TurboQAM (QAM256) support -- Enable
--U-APSD (Automatic Power Save) -- Enable
--Single User Beamforming -- Enable
--Multicast To Unicast -- Enable
--
Core USB Support -- Enable
USB Storage Support -- Enable
Automatic Drive Mount -- Enable
--
Samba -- Enable
NFS Server -- Enable
Transmission Daemon -- Disable: I launch it in autorun - "sleep 30; /usr/bin/transmissiond -g /mnt/my/Torrents" - solves the problem of servicing the "watch-dir:" option.
--
Syslogd -- Enable
Klogd -- Enable
--
UPnP Service -- Enable
SPI Firewall -- Enable

Protocol -- HTTP & HTTPS

Seems okay here too, Time: 12:58:49 up 21:13, load average: 0.02, 0.06, 0.00

And I still have access to the GUI

WRT1900acs v.1

Continuing to test this build and continue to lose the GUI. I turned SFE on as that's the default. I woke up at around 4 in the morning and using my Asus tablet was still able to access the router's GUI. I thought wow, maybe that did it.

Two hours later when I actually got up, I tried it and the GUI was inaccessible again. Nothing was using the router at all between those two hours. Internet and wireless still up. Just the httpd process suddenly goes wonky.
