Hi,

I just installed the latest version (Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r40559 std (08/06/19)) on my old WRT54GL v1.1 router. I'm trying to configure it as a repeater so I can attach a wired connection in a remote part of my house. I'm following the instructions on this page:

https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wlan_Repeater

Every time I click "Apply" changes, or even adding a Virtual AP, or something similar, I get the "This site can't be reached". I have the router connected to my linux desktop, I can ping it and port 80 is up. After seeing this message, I have to power cycle the device and then I can get back in.

Any suggestions?

thanks

1. Did you reset after flashing then manually set up?
2. Did you check the 40559 build thread to check for similar issues?
3. Don't use the Router Database. See the Broadcom forum announcements. Wink
4. That isn't the latest (see #3):
https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2019/
Always check the build threads for k2.4 reports before flashing unless you are comfortable with recovery. Smile Someone reported success with 41212 k2.4 on a GSv8 (outside the build thread).

Hi jwh7 -

After reading through your reply, I also read through the Peacock thread and realized the main problem was PEBKAC. I ditched Chrome for Firefox and the upgrades and configuration went much more smoothly.

Thanks for your help.
