Hi all,

I am retiring my Win2008 HyperV server which also runs DHCP for my SOHO network. I have been running a DD-WRT AP for a long time and have used DD-WRT in other situations as a router/firewall and wireless-bridge successfully.

So I thought I might use my WRT300N in a DHCP server only scenario. It has most everything turned off including the WLAN. It is working and delivering DHCP info correctly for the most part. Initially it would deliver it's own address for DNS and the gateway IPs. I put the following two entries into the DNSMASQ options. DNSMASQ is enabled. The Linksys WRT's LAN IP is 10.128.0.12 and the WAN port is disabled.

dhcp-option=6,10.128.0.2
dhcp-option=3,10.128.0.1

also Firmware: DD-WRT 2.4 v3.0-r40559 std (08/06/19)

Now DHCP delivers the correct DNS (options 6), but the GW still = .12. I have researched many hours and tried multiple items to correct this with no success. Everything else involving DHCP is working fine, including static leases, etc. But, with the gateway set wrong, all internet traffic is going thru the WRT and it shouldn't.

Some things I tried:
DNSMASQ off, options moved to DHCPd area.
Switched order of options, only running one option.
Switched modes to Gateway vs. Router and back.
Turned on WAN port and set static and as DHCP client. Now it is just disabled.
Early on the DHCP service was crashing and stopping. I turned off NVRAM for caching lease DB and that stopped the crashes.
Turned off firewall services.
Changed LAN settings GW to 0.0.0.0, but that blocked all internet traffic. lol.
Yes, the Windows DHCP server is disabled.
It only has one ethernet cable going to a LAN port. I also combined the WAN port with the switch ports and plugged it into that port. No change.

Any other ideas on how to get it to deliver the needed GW IP?

Thanks!
