My dd-wrt wireless status tab showed the transmission speed of my iPad Air 2 is 866Mbps, but when I speed test my iPad Air 2, I always got only a bit above 400Mbps. My internet speed is 1000/100Mbps. I also speed test from my wired desktop and always get internet download speed over 700Mbps.

Is it normal or I have to set up more parameter on dd-wrt?

Wifi AP: Archer C9v1
dd-wrt: r41027
Router: pfSense

Great read on the topic. 866 is the PHY rate. Wifi has significant overhead and radio particulars that affect your actual speed. Wifi 5 (AC) is good to 300-500 mbps under ideal conditions with 80mhz and a 2x2 client.

The wifi speed being less than what it is capable of is predominately a software issue. Here is an example project of people tackling the exact issue: https://www.bufferbloat.net/projects/make-wifi-fast/wiki/

This sums up what I was going to respond with. "Don't go by the numbers in the webUI, because they are bullsh*t". I could go further, but that's enough.

Archer C9v1 has a dual core at 1ghz and this is its
max WAN performance you wont get more than 400Mbit...
try turning ON SFE, but i doubt you will get further
than its max speed, kind of....
to utilise a Gig WAN speed you'd need a R7800...
