ipq806x qos still bad broken slow and laggy as usual... hfsc+cake on dir-862L kills wan, htb+cake works..

Router Model: D-Link DIR 859 A3

Doesn”t even run...

Problem: After configuring and applying the user input speed settings in the QoS tab, all connection to the router becomes lost. Even though the AP is broadcasting, clients can’t connect to the network.

Router Model: Netgear R7800

Firmware Version: DD-WRT v3.0-r40750 std (08/23/19)
Kernel Version: Linux 4.9.189 #459 SMP Fri Aug 23 09:33:25 CEST 2019 armv7l

Upgraded from: DD-WRT v3.0-r40459 std (07/30/19)
Reset: Yes : nvram erase

Status: Up and running for 24 hours, basic setup as Gateway, static leases, OpenVPN client (on PIA) with Policy Based Routing up and running, 2,4GHz, 5Ghz USB storage NAS and OpenVPN server working

Errors: Yes
1. Samba does not start automatically have to do: sleep 10; stopservice samba3; startservice samba3
2. DNS leak see: http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/6020

Resolved:
1. VPN works with QoS enabled (I did not test that extensively)
2. Pushed DNS servers from VPN provider are now used, if you do not want that, add the following to the Additional Config of the VPN client:
pull-filter ignore "dhcp-option DNS"
3. Reset button is working again

Otherwise build is fine

Big Thanks to the devs!!

I haven't changed a thing.
She is still HFSC FQ_CODEL_FAST
I like it and will leave it there
my daughter is here for the weekend and she does lots online so I will NOT tinker with main router for couple days Twisted Evil

---

these clients are currently connected but I'm sure they will get very busy in just a short while.
still couple minutes before 8:00 AM this Saturday morning here now Smile

I used htb+cake. Mind you this happened even after clearing the nvram before and after the flash.
