I have a strange one with DD-WRT v3.0-r40559 std (08/06/19) running on a Netgear R7000 wireless router.
Using SSH to log in with public key authentication works perfecty from the LAN, however when I try externally I get a strange message:
Using username "admin".
DD-WRT v3.0-r40559 std (c) 2019 NewMedia-NET GmbH
Release: 08/06/19
Board: Netgear R7000
Server refused our key
PuttyNG also has a popup containing:
Disconnected: No supported authentication methods
available (server sent: publickey)
The key I am using is idential as are the settings from the client on my LAN computer. The SSH client on the router is on port 222 and this is externally accessible.
