I have: Linksys WRT1900ACS
Firmware Version DD-WRT v3.0-r40559 std (08/06/19)
Kernel Version Linux 4.9.187 #1207 SMP Tue Aug 6 05:17:29 CEST 2019 armv7l

I have added a couple of iptables commands into the startup script. These work fine and do what I want them to do. However, at some point, these extra commands disappear from the tables. I'm not sure exactly when, it's just if I enter them one day, by the next day they are gone. The router is not rebooting (in fact, a reboot correctly adds these commands as it should).

Why are the iptables reverting to their previous state and can I stop this behaviour?

Because the firewall restarts.

Firewall commands have to be saved as firewall and not as startup

Thought it might be something simple! Now I know what the "Save firewall" button means.

Many thanks
