As per title

I need to link two routers in what some makers like TP-Link call WDS Repeater Mode.

In this case neither router is the connection to the Internet, and neither is linked in any way to the Internet router.

The two just sit on the network replacing a broken wired link between two buildings and maintain both ends of the WiFi link on the same subnet. Same subnet is vital.

This "WDS Repeater Mode" seems to allows all communication that wired provides and without MAC address problems.

DD-WRT will simply provide more flexibility than available with TP-Link.

I will not necessarily flash these routers with DD-WRT as they have too little RAM so will be looking for low cost alternatives to these £25 and £30 models.
