Hello all..

Can anyone suggest a brainslayer build for the Asus AC5300? There are no recommended builds listed for this router at all.

I currently have DD-WRT v3.0-r39960M kongac (06/08/19) and have tried other kong builds with the same issues as this build.

My problems are dropping of 2.4ghz channel and dropping of wan IP or both & web config access. Its somewhat tied to heat So I have a fan running to keep it cool but it still happens. Considering RMA but really wanna try a good brainslayer recommended build before I do that.

Ok since no one will answer this question I figured Id give it a shot myself. I have horrible 2.4ghz crashes on kongs last few builds with my AC5300. Where in the past I loved kongs builds on my R7000 & other routers. They were always great for my routers. I have had issues with some though both the 1900acs and this ac5300 both had issues. So I went and jumped to DD-WRT v3.0-r40900 std (09/04/19) in hopes this bs build will fix my 2.4ghz crash issues. I will report back and hopefully be able to recommend this build to everyone here on an AC5300.

Update only 1 hour in and this 40900 build is stable even with my trying to crash it by changing settings on the fly. The 2.4ghz channel stays alive even when the web gui goes down, which was certainly not the case with kong.

I don't have anything with a BCM4709 chipset, but I have 4 routers with a BCM4708 (two Netgear AC1450s, Linksys EA6700, and Asus RT-AC56U). I use the Kong 37015 build on these and it's been very stable.
