Stick with openwrt if it's working well. Install what you need with open to bring it up to dd-wrt. If there is something you want but don't have, revert openwrt back to stock firmware for your router and try again with dd-wrt.

DD-WRT does not support the goofy quantenna radio 5G in the R7500v1.
Much better off with the R7500v2

If you must use a dd-wrt build I would try a Kong build from here --

I Know that quantenna is not support but is not problem because my router use is only for VPN client and 2,4ghz is enough for me.
I try also any despiro version but not work. Sad

I've used only image from desipro site or from official page of dd-wrt site.
I tried to:
- Start from stock fw v1.0.0.94 and flash R7500v1-factory-to-ddwrt.img directly from web interface but after restart get bootloop.
- hard reset 30/30/30 but bootloop still remain
- Flash via tftp ddwrt.img bootloop still remain
- Flash via tftp openwrt work fine but have problem with wget 4 error

i Want to install dd-wrt firmware Sad Sad Sad

Seems a generic issue. Some one found the latest working version is build 33986. I can confirm, that one works on my r7500v1. While I want to use the 5 Ghz wifi I went back to the stock firmware, version V1.0.0.130.

I also have a r7800. That one runs the latest dd-wrt build without issues. However I can not get Entware opkg working on the lastest build.

I am thinking of selling the r7500v1 and buying a more dd-wrt friendly router.
