I am very new to the dd-wrt thing and have installed it on my WRR3200ACM in order to change TTL settings. (BTW that new build released the other day doesn’t work when trying to upload from factory and I had to use an older build) my issue is that I no longer can connect to the internet via my router. Currently my “modem” is a Netgear Nighthawk MR1100 with a Verizon SIM card installed and connected to the router via Ethernet. I tried changing simple settings using dd-wrt and seem to be missing something to allow it to connect to the internet. The router already has a different I.P. address so that’s not the issue FYI. Anybody that can help me figure this out?

I'm not qualified to get any deeper into this, but just to start you off, the first thing I'd want to confirm is that (1) the dd-wrt router's "internet" port is what's connected to the "modem" and that (2) in dd-wrt in the GUI under Setup>BasicSetup, in the Network Setup section in the Router IP box, the Local IP Address and Subnet Mask together specify a range of IP addresses that does NOT include what your "modem" is assigning to the router. If both your dd-wrt router and the "modem" are assigning addresses of the form 192.168.1.X, you will have trouble. If that's the case, change that Local IP Address in the dd-wrt GUI to 192.168.2.1 or something. Generally changing the third number in this way deconflicts the situation.

There are many other things that can keep you off the internet besides this particular one. This is just a particularly easy one to fall into if this sort of setup process is new to you.

I'll just wish you luck then and count on others more qualified to pick up the thread if this doesn't solve it for you.

No, unfortunately it’s something more complicated than that, but I do appreciate the suggestions

Reset to defaults and start over. Most likely, you've mis-configured something. The only thing you should have to change, if anything, to start with is the router local IP address. And that is only if your modem's ethernet / lan side is already configured to be 192.168.1.1. IF via LAN ethernet port you do not have internet access at that point after saving and applying settings, there is a much larger and deeper problem with the firmware build it self, which, I don't see a build number for reference....

For reference the build number I’m using is: v3.0-r36698

Also, whenever I connect to the router via Ethernet it only brings up the modem and treats the router as if it isn’t there, or is just connecting two wires.

Not sure what I could’ve configured wrong considering all I’ve done is switch th i.p. Address of the router

I did a bit of research on your problem and found that setting it up connection to your 3200 will likely be a bit difficult, but you are not the first. Take a look at the Netgear Community posts, they may help you get it going.

Good luck.

Also you should be able to upgrade to the latest releases without problem, just check the posts for any problems that have appeared with these.
