Issue with what I’m trying to use dd-wrt for

So I live in a fairly rural area and my internet options here are frankly almost nonexistent. Just to give background for what I’m trying to do, I’m loosely following these videos, but obviously my router setup is different. I’m wondering if there are different settings I’m missing I now have to manually set that the program/GUI that the video maker used is automatically applied. For reference I’m on the WRT3200ACM and am using the v3.0-r36698 std (08/22/1Cool. I also have installed a VPN.

Also, I’m not expecting speeds anywhere near what the creator gets, but I know I can get around 3-4 mbps
