Posted: Wed Aug 07, 2019 17:01 Post subject: Help with Deutsche Telekom DSL setup (sorry for the English)
I just moved to Germany and got Telekom DSL service.
From them I received the Speedport Smart 3 Modem/ Router and it is currently working.
I would like to use the Speedport as a modem only (I know this process) and my Netgear Nighthawk X8 R8500 as the router (It has DD-WRT v3.0-r40527 std (08/04/19) installed).
My issue is the setup through the DD-WRT firmware. I assume that I use the PPoE setup (but I could be wrong). I am trying to figure out what my username and password are. I have a "Zugangsnummer", a Personliches Kennwort" and a "Anschluskennung". I have tried various combinations of these as username and password with no success.
Secondly, are there any other settings that I need to change in the DD-WRT firmware to make the connection work?
I am sorry that this is in English but my German is not advanced enough to communicate my issues at this time.

Zugangsnummer = access number
Persönliches Kennwort = personal password
Anschlusskennung = attachment identification (I am guessing username)
Everything else should be like any other connection setup as far as what to set up. If you're familiar with setting up DD-WRT, then it shouldn't be much of an issue. I presume that those words are on the modem given to you by the isp and there is no English mode on said modem...?
