Hi,
Currently have build 37305 installed on partition 2, stock OEM on partition 1.
I'm trying to upgrade to 40527 from the dd-wrt gui with no success. I have read through Cliff notes sticky and followed the instructions.
Have tried, clearing cache on Edge browser, downloading 40527 webflash, telnet to boot to partition 1, upgrade via dd-wrt gui, I get the success message, then modem reboots back into the stock OEM. I have tried rebooting a few times from the stock OEM but hasn't worked.
If you want to keep stock on one of the partitions, you should keep it on partition 2 and run dd-wrt in partition 1 cos for last few dd-wrt builds, the size can only fit in partition 1 as they're too big for partition 2. _________________

It must be pretty damn hard to figure out. I don't even own a Marvell device, and I know what to do.
"GUI" Method
go to Administrator>Command (paste this)
1: ubootenv set boot_part 2 or fw_setenv boot_part 2
2: Don't REBOOT
3: Flash new WEBFLASH from Firmware Upgrade - DO NOT RESET.
"Console" Method
ubootenv get boot_part ( says 1 )
ubootenv set boot_part 2
cd /tmp
wget firmware from ftp site.
write frimware linux
reboot

FWIW, 40134 is supposedly the latest solid build that will fit in either partition. It's less than six weeks old. The most solid of those a touch older is apparently 40009, from June 11. I'm running it in partition 2 of a WRT1900ACSv2 now. _________________ 2x Netgear XR500 and 3x Linksys WRT1900ACSv2 on 53544: VLANs, VAPs, NAS, station mode, OpenVPN client (AirVPN), wireguard server (AirVPN port forward) and clients (AzireVPN, AirVPN, private), 3 DNSCrypt providers via VPN.
Thanks for the replies. I didn't really understand the mechanics of telling the modem to boot into a specific partition etc. I figured it out now. Cliff notes nailed it with the console trick. So I just applied that.
