I upgraded my router and I'm using the exact same SSID and password but the smart life compatible socket and lightbulb are not coming back. Has anyone had this issue? It looks like there showing up in the router as legacy but not actually connected. It's really weird! I'm trying to remember how to reset them..

Is there a way to remote in, or did you have to use WPS to set them up initially?

What upgrade did you do?
What is your Router?

Just posted this for similar problem....

Known problem with 3200 & 32X .
Smart devices based on ESP8266 devices won't work wit the current driver.
I personally have a separate VAP on my routers with wmm disabled to accommodate these devices. Disabling wmm will cause most other devices failure to connect therefore why I use a separate VAP for them.
Am currently testing use of vap fr these devices on my remote 1900 as it was rebooting regularly but has been stable since I setup a separate vap for the smart devices.

Pardon my ignorance but what is a VAP? I actually do have a wireless access point that I could probably connect these to. I just have to figure out how to reset these things and connect them to the different AP. Do you know if they are working on a fix for these devices on the 32X?

On your wireless page "Add Virtual AP", tick off advanced settings and disable wmm.

Yes you will have to reset something. In my case I reset the devices that I could access remotely and put them on the new SSID that I created. Kind of a pain in the butt but these ESP8266 devices and the OEM driver just don't co-operate.

Kamakzie ,

Before going through extensive reconfiguration as a test go to your wireless settings -> advanced settings -> wmm support -> Disable, apply and see if your smart bulbs connect. It is likely that most other devices won't connect but at least you will then know.

Yes it does make them work again and I don't really notice anything missing from my Wi-Fi. Maybe I'm lucky?

With wmm disabled you may find devices will not transfer properly or at reduced speed. When disabling wmm was first realized as a fix for these smart devices, there were numerous comments that it should never be disabled. I found that I had transfer/connection problems. Also if you did not do a reboot for some reason all devices will work even though wmm was disabled. If when you do reboot you may find you have a no connect on some devices.

Maybe I can create the virtual AP and then transfer the devices through the apps before re-enabling WMM on the main?

That would be ideal and less confusing than what I did recently.
The only reason I did so many steps was because I run SONOFF switches and the only way to change the AP connection is to go to the devices and reset each accordingly which of course is proper pain. Hence why I just left them on the master SSID and switched my other devices (mostly IP Cameras) which I could access remotely
