Hello, after reading through a lot of announcements I am still not sure if I downloaded the right version for my router Confused

I bought a used Linksys WRT54GS v4 and it apparently came with DD-WRT v24-sp2 (10/10/09) voip (SVN revision 13064) .
Edit: I also looked up the correv, 'nvram get wl0_corerev' returns 9.

I want to just flash the Brainslayer 14929 recommended build.

I looked for the correct download and found the directory
https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2010/08-12-10-r14929/broadcom/
with the file dd-wrt.v24_std_generic.bin from 12-Aug-2010 11:14. I think I can flash the generic version because the router already has dd-wrt and has 4 MB of flash.
Edit2: I also did backup my cfe.bin

Could someone please tell me if I am correct before I touch my router?

PS: The issue with the peacock thread is: It tells you that e.g. 'correv' is important but not what to do with it, that confuses me ...

Yeahuh the 'dd-wrt.v24_mini_generic.bin' should be what you need
or any of the
'dd-wrt.v24_vpn_generic.bin'
'dd-wrt.v24_nokaid_generic.bin'
'dd-wrt.v24_voip_generic.bin'
I believe are less than 4MB

most likely older builds will work much better than builds of last couple years Razz

Thanks for your answer, is there a particular reason why I should not use the standard (std) version as it is 3.6M as well?

The 'dd-wrt.v24_std_generic.bin' should work also from https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2010/08-12-10-r14929/broadcom/
but I just never use that build. Cool

Sure it does:
Peacock announcement wrote:
VINT is for old routers that cannot support the new wireless drivers and have a correv of 4 or less.
However, Brainslayer told me his (DD v2.4/v3) builds have always supported what used to be v2.4-sp1 (and earlier) VINT-only routers anyway.

VINT's are working. yes. that was always the case and i still have one of these [WRT54Gv]1.1 routers

Of course none of this matters for the GS models anyway. Razz The Peacock is outdated and more for historical reference now. It is better to read the FAQ and device-specific wiki.
