Yes. Several times. It’s not super easy, but the method in the first post in this thread has worked for me with 4 different EA6700s at this point.

I bought a EA6700 and installed DD WRT fw with Pastorbrendad guide. It's working perfect with r42729. So I bought a 2nd EA6700 but on this one I'm stuck on fw 23204. Any attempt to upgrade or downgrade I get the upgrade failure message. I've tried to upgrade thru gui and tftp 2 with no success. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you forget this step on the second go round?

7. Go to Administration -> Management -> Firmware Upgrade and install BS build 34610. For some reason I had trouble flashing to newer builds from 23204 without going to 34610 first. You can find it here in the Router Database.

Only thing I could suggest is CLI if webUI and TFTP are not cooperating.

I’ve gotten hung up a few times, and usually it was from not using a static IP and wired connections. Barring that, usually reinstalling things has gotten me around getting stuck on a certain firmware. Did you try reinstalling 23204 from 23204? Sometimes that has worked for me!

I was able to upgrade

On WinSCP:
1 Select New Site;
2 File protocol: SCP; Note: my profile for the router is SFTP, but SCP should work too
3 Hostname: 192.168.1.1 (or your router IP);
4 Username: root
5 Password: your admin pass
6 Drag downloaded firmware from Download folder and drop in /tmp

On putty;
1 Login on 192.168.1.1 (user root and pass);
2 Type:
cd /tmp (Enter)
mtd -r write xxxxx.bin linux (Enter) (Sure, replace xxxx with your firmware filename...)

Hi All, I’m new at this and I’m stuck on 23204. I started with a new EA6700 out of the box.

Here is what I have tried as well as details that might be relevant.
On step 5, I installed the 23204 version for EA6500v2
I have set my desktop IP address to 192.168.1.100 by Services->Services and filled out the form for a static lease.
The router was already configured for 192.168.1.1 and 255.255.255.0 in 23204 when I go to setup->basic setup. So I didn’t mess with that.
I confirmed my desktop IP address is 192.168.1.100 by using “ipconfig” on the command line of my desktop.
I am connected to the router with the Ethernet cable and my desktop wireless is turned off
I have tried loading the following files about a hundred times using the 23204 GUI:
34610 (for EA6700)
34610 (for EA6500v2)
also tried to reload 23204
I also tried 42015,40559,36527,36410,36330,36247 a few times each.
Each time, I get an error about 20 seconds into the upgrade.
I have rebooted router and restarted desktop many times.
I also tried loading the files with TFTP. That errors out as well

After that, I tried loading the files using a laptop instead, again setting the IP address to 192.168.1.100 and confirming it with ipconfig at the command prompt. Still no luck.

Any ideas on what I should try next?
Thank you in advance.

I fixed the dyslexic information in the OP. This is the build you need: https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2018/07-28-2018-r36410/

You have to follow the guide step-by-step. I would recommend using IE, or Firefox ESR with a cleared cache and no browser extensions. This is always my go-to hot standby if I use FTP on anything Linksys: https://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=137928

Woops. Sorry for the confusion. I specifically remember re-reading that number several times to try and get the number right when I wrote the guide.

No worries. I had to look closely myself and scratch my head a few times and figured I would make the changes I did and note that I did it.

Hey all, back again after a failed attempted on trying to bridge my ISP's router to my dd-wrt EA6700 Linksys router a few months ago. Trying to give it a 2nd go but for some reason I can't access the dd-wrt page for my EA6700 router anymore. I think it was because I didn't do a factory reset after I got finished installing dd-wrt.

So my question is, how should I go about resetting this router? I read on the wiki that certain reset methods shouldn't be used on certain brands like Linksys so I just wanted to make sure which method works best for the EA6700 Linksys routers.

With it powered up, press and hold the reset button for ~10 seconds, then let go - unless you can telnet or ssh in and do 'nvram erase && reboot'.

Still nothing. Not sure if I'm doing everything right though. On a Windows laptop and set my Local Area connection to a Static IP like the wiki mentioned

    IP address to 192.168.1.2
    subnet mask to 255.255.255.0
    gateway address to 192.168.1.1

Wasn't sure if I needed to put anything for DNS so I left it blank. But every time I try to hit dd-wrt page I get a connection timed out.

Edit:
Scratch all that, I'm an idiot. I had the cable in the wrong port. Laughing
