Linux 3.10.108-d8 #13639 Thu Jul 4 04:11:51 CEST 2019 mips
No rest -- GUI install
switch / smaba share FAT32
uptime 16:45
NO longer requires a power cycle after install like many previous builds.
samba working just fine and also still good after doing a reboot.
Great build on this router.... although ---
this unit has ->Oops: flash id 0x1c2017 .
still will NOT install on my 160NL or E2100L units that have ->Oops: flash id 0xc22017 .
see difference in their MTD parts ---> 'from here' iffin anyone wants to know why.
don't remember any build that will install on them since r34311
might could maybe replace some their MTD parts or complete uboot but don't see the point since
old dd-wrt builds work very good for what I use them for anyways Twisted Evil
I spoke to BS about this; can you post the full dmesg from the two units that won't update? Wink

Well Sir, I sent him stuff few years back and really ain't worried too much with now days.
fairly recent ---> http://mrjcd.com/junk/dd-wrt/WRT160NL_E2100L.html

according to my server these two links below were put up 03/14/17 but tis all the same.
http://mrjcd.com/junk/dd-wrt/E2100L-WRT160NL/Oops_flash-id.txt
http://mrjcd.com/junk/dd-wrt/E2100L-WRT160NL/WRT160NL.jpg

I also think I am not the only one that has run into this problem ...
...and dunno why the MTD blocks are slightly different on these silly routers

alright then 'here is full dmesg' from good 160NL and the non upgradable one.
Also dmesg from one of the WDS E2100L that is always in use using old 2005 build....they's WDS stable with old r27506 Razz
My two E200L units are just same as two of my 160NL non upgradable units.

EDIT:
I just threw ' this about firmware size' together cause usuallly people thinking it is a size issue Rolling Eyes

ok, jwh7
alright then I got this straight now and owe BS an apology. ....imma dumbass I reckon ---
I thought, would have sworn, I had tried this recently but maybe not.
My my ol brain don't work nothing like it used to.
I know I tried this years ago because my old notes say so but that was prolly with whatever old old builds screwed them up in first place.
BS says there were some old bad builds and not just the bad few of last year.

erase linux and tftp r40189 worked like a charm.
Did same with other 160NL but used r40260 and it worked like a charm.
I'll try on the E2100L routers someday if I ever pull them down from their WDS setup.

'FULL LOG' of what I did.

Yous winders people with these type routers can do same with PuTTy and TFTP32 / TFTP64

oh yea, forgot to mention on the 160NL I installed r40189 I then install r40260 using the GUI / webif without a problem Smile
