I saw that on the isp website. It was not clear as to which one to use.

I setup the dmz on (isp modem/router) and had "use external ip" checked but I still could not connect to my router from outside the local lan.

Hi
Okay...
I have the DMZ working. The problem was I had the same ports open on my isp modem/router.

Still no ideal why I cannot get a connection in bridge mode. I will keep looking for a solution to get this working.
Thanks
Mike

The problem with the modem working in transparent bridging is now fixed. I am not sure why it started working.
There was an outage in the area, so when my service was restored I decided to try again and this time it worked. I am guessing there was a programming issue on their side.
Thanks to everyone that helped me with a workaround.

Very Happy

Hi
I will give that try. Sound s like it might solve my problem.
By Ip checker I assume you mean something like no-ip.com?

Thanks
Mike

What was the answer that you're responding to? Sounds like it might help me too.

Hi
I actually used dchp which is basically the same as ipoe.
I had settings on the modem that were incorrect for the ipoe.
