Whew I wouldnt recommend it, the GUI fucks up pretty bad after rebooting the router it took me forever to get it to switch partitions.

1. VAPs not working at boot; workaround startup command:
sleep 10;stopservice nas;stopservice wlconf;startservice wlconf;startservice nas
ALTERNATE for VAP issue run command ifconfig ath0.1 down then ifconfig ath0.1 up ( works better for me )

Had the same problem. Momma was not happy when I cut into her Netflix time. She threatened me with a banana in the tailpipe, if you get my drift.

You may have interrupted her Netflix, but she should have been happy after that banana split.

So with build r40134 we take a couple steps forward, and now the new build is broken. What can I say Justanotherbrokenrouter!

Of course, I updated before reading this Sad
Downgrading via web interface didn't seem to work either (nothing happened when hitting the "upgrade" button),
so I copied the previous ddwrt-*-webflash.bin to /tmp on the router and did a

Code:
mtd -f write ddwrt-*-webflash.bin linux

and rebooted.
I think I just killed my router - it's not booting and the power LED is only blinking.

Does anyone know how to recover from this?
There should be a way to boot from the second partition, right?

Ooh, just saw myself buying a USB/Serial cable...
Quickly turning the power off and on again 3 or 4 times switches to the other boot partition.
I'm back in business... Smile

So, what is the recovery procedure?
I applied several times hard reset, but still no luck!
Congratulations dd-wrt team!

Manually switch the router from primary to alternate partition or vice versa [backup] partition:

Power off router with power switch.
Turn power back on and Power LED will light.
As soon as all LEDs turn off (~2s), power off router with power switch
Turn power back on and Power LED will light.
As soon as all LEDs turn off (~2s), power off router with power switch
Turn power back on and Power LED will light.
As soon as all LEDs turn off (~2s), power off router with power switch
Turn power back on and allow router to fully boot.
It should now be booted to the alternate firmware partition

I think I'll leave this release alone, and stay at R40134. My deepest thanks for the heads-up(s).

Hold the reset on the back for 10 seconds, and if no response just unplug the power from the back of the router turn off the switch wait 10 seconds, and plug in, and power on. Only if it's not a extreme brick it should revert back to Linksys factory firmware on its own.

I took my firmware way back to r36247. Scary up here in the new build zone! Watch your router closely with every upgrade if you see the white smoke pull power quickly!

People please stop doing hard reset on your router it's a very unhealthy practice. It can harm your router.
