there is no real difference between the special edition and the standard edition. just some additional features.

i really need the bandwidth limiter for each client.
becoz my roomates always argue because of downloading problem, all of them always download stuff. so separating the bandwidth will be the best solution.
can u help me? thx ^^

then just use it and consider to use the right values on the qos tab. if the standard edition works, the the special works too.
but using the wrong values on the qos tab can knock you out (too low setting as default bandwidth for example if your own mac or ip is not included as high bandwidth configuration)

i dunno if its just my router's problem. the standard edition works perfectly for me, but when i flash it with the special ed, it just doesnt work. i cant access the GUI, and even i can ping 192.168.1.1, i still cant access it.
hmm i wonder why.... >_<

Thanks BS for all the hard work.

Quick question, when will the mega build special be available? Also, will that version work on the Linksys WRT54GS version 3.0? I think that has exactly 8MB flash. Since it only has 8MB, will it be slow, or still be OK, as the mega build says 8MB+. Thanks.

I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in. I'm not running anything elaborate, (2) WRT54G v4. The 2nd router as a bridge. I upgraded, over the weekend, from v23 SP2 Special voip to v24 Special voip. I didn't change any of the settings. I ran speed tests before upgrading. I don't know what you changed, from in '06 to '08, but my d/l speeds are averaging a 20% increase, u/l, about 5%.

I just wanted to say thanks, for the hard work you put into this project. Very Happy

I have an Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 which was preinstalled with v23 SP2 now after installing dd-wrt.v24_std_special_generic i get indication on my laptop that wlan is going up and down frequently.

When checking wlan status on the router I saw that speed was somehow stuck at 1Mbit/s after router reboot all was working fine again.

Brainslayer is there some logging to be done to track this problem?
I belive that any logs are gone after my reboot?

How do i know that i am running the latest version?

If a new build of dd-wrt.v24_std_special_generic is called dd-wrt.v24_std_special_generic even after some corrections have been made?

Or have I missed something?
