[WARNING]: This thread is only for feedback on this beta release for developers and the community's benefit.
DO NOT flash this beta release unless you understand the risks involved and specific device recovery methods.
Avoid discussions! Create threads for questions, general problems or use search; this thread is not for support.
Please list router model & revision, operating & wireless mode(s) and exact filename/firmware image flashed.

Downloads: (DD-WRT website) HTTPS & FTP (try another if a link doesn't work)

CLI Flash: 'cd /tmp' then 'wget {file URL}' (or 'curl -k {file URL} -o {file}') with http (not https) or ftp. Then 'write {file} linux'.

Repository: Trac SVN changelog since last build r43078 (GitHub mirror)

Notes:
• CVE-2019-14899 VPN fix from December, since then various revisions including recently 7040.
In-kernel Samba has been implemented this year and default min/max versions have changed, with WSD support.
• VAP issue is fixed! For any Wireless Mode, create a VAP and both ath0/ath1 should now function properly.
WireGuard 1.0 & tools! New GUI Tunnel options since r42872; now with key management! Setup guides: Client & Server by egc
Local DNS option removed from Services->DNSMasq in changesets 43080 and 43081; ref: #7092
DHCP and DNS help (English) updated in 43083; ref: #7091

Issues:
• There may be remaining issues for Samba (for example NTFS), with frequent updates.

Important:
• If reporting issues provide applicable info: syslog output, 'dmesg', 'cat /tmp/var/log/messages', serial output, strace etc.
• For firewall issues provide 'iptables -L', 'iptables -t nat -L' and the /tmp/.ipt file.
• Search existing SVN tickets before opening a new one. Before reporting, reset and manually setup (no nvram backup).
• Be sure to include operating and wireless modes (Gateway, AP, CB, etc.) along with any relevant configuration information.

Example Template:
Code:
[b]Router/Version: [/b]
[b]File/Kernel: [/b]
[b]Previous/Reset: [/b]
[b]Mode/Status: [/b]
[b]Issues/Errors: [/b]

Try again with the other file (whr-hp-g300n-firmware-MULTI.bin), that is the initial flash file from stock firmware.

Thank you for reminding me the wrong file. However, with the correct file, it still won't let me update. It will show the progress for 2 seconds and then show the "upgrade successful" message and reboot. Using the installation with SSH, I got the error:

flash : Image too big for partition: linux
linux: No such file or directory

Checking the partitions, I got:
root@Buffalo:/tmp# cat /proc/mtd
dev: size erasesize name
mtd0: 00040000 00010000 "RedBoot"
mtd1: 003a0000 00010000 "linux"
mtd2: 002d3000 00010000 "rootfs"
mtd3: 00020000 00010000 "ddwrt"
mtd4: 00010000 00010000 "nvram"
mtd5: 00010000 00010000 "board_config"
mtd6: 00400000 00010000 "fullflash"
mtd7: 00040000 00010000 "fullboot"
mtd8: 00010000 00010000 "uboot-env"

Seems the image hit the size limit. So currently, I can get firmware upgrade up to r42872, but not any other later versions.

Updated from the previous build on my R7800. It runs well.

I got especially interested in this build, because the OP mentioned that VAP's will now work.
I used to have a guest VAP on 2.4 GHz and later I made one on 5 GHz when my wife started to 'telecommute' here at home.

It quickly went wrong and I don't know why. Maybe something was changed at the other end of the VPN arrangements for her job, or updating the DD-WRT f/w while she was off for a week killed the VAP's.

While trying to set up the VAP's on recent f/w builds I managed to cause total lock-ups several times. No doubt because of a lack of understanding of all the settings involved.

A complicating factor has likely been that at the same time I set up an external DNS server aka PiHole (and tagged a VPN server on as well (PiVPN), which also take some figuring out. It runs on a Raspberry PI.

At the moment I have only one 5 GHz VAP left, because I couldn't get both to work at the same time with my laptop.
My laptop never showed the 2.4 GHz VAP even though my smartphone connected to it fine, when instructed to do so.

My main AP has the same SSID for both bands.

I studied the Wiki for VAP's etc. but as so often, it refers to older builds.
Abstracts like bridges are beyond me at this time, but fortunately just an extra DHCP was needed, which was easy to set up on the Setup Networking page.

Having two of those extra DHCPd's seems to be a problem. I need one for each VAP as they have different addresses outside the address space of the main router function.

VAP clients currently do show the correct DNS address (PiHole's address), but setting that in the networking page for each VAP was a no no. 0.0.0.0 was also not allowed, so I used 1.1.1.1. I'm not sure if in the end 1.1.1.1 is actually used for any VAP clients even though the clients list their DNS as being the PiHole.

Anyway Cloudflare is used as the upstream DNS service on the PiHole DNS server and it's not really important to prevent clients from circumventing the PiHole if the user really wants to.

Router/Version: Netgear R7800 (x5)
File/Kernel: dd-wrt-webupgrade-netgear_r7800-r43099.bin
Reset: No
Mode/Status: WDS - AP with 4 stations (all R7800)
Issues/Errors: Not impressed with wireguard speed test - much better than openvpn though. Otherwise OK.

Previous/Reset: r43078 (05/07/20) / No
Mode/Status: AP Gateway / Uptime 2 days 1 hour
Issues/Errors: dmesg

This build has more stable wifi than r43055 or r43078 for EA8500.

not to worry 'bout such
many tried to fix over the years but it shows on lots of radios including the r7800 QCA 9984 and some Linux OS distros over the years.

I think it actually caused problems for some in the past and maybe even crashed the ath10k firmware.

Never cause me any problem on the EA8500 ... just get a few every once in a while but you never know it unless you look at log Twisted Evil

EDIT:
few of them uglies in newer build but she is all very good ... this build is all 'bout same as r43099 just a lil kernel bump
