Hi:
I read a number of mixed success and failure accounts regarding getting a Chromecast to be seen by either PC or mobile apps routed using either a LEDE or DD-WRT system. Having tried pretty much all the suggests on both the lede and dd sites (for the two respective router builds), I am more and more convinced that something was introduced into the kernel code between Oct20th and Oct 25th, 2017 that has fundamentally broken multicast routing on bridged networks (mixed 2.5G, 5G, and lan). What would be the best way to track the difference in the code submitted between those two times.
The one other possibility, might be that the way that bridging is implemented on a Linksys WRT3200ACM is unique which may explain other people's success in getting the cast to work.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how to proceed? Would it make sense for to try and install a Oct20th build and see if it works (what are the risks in trying to downgrade?) Is it possible to see the source code tree and look at the changes from Oct 20th onward?
I use a couple chromecast and they work just fine.
Both are connected to 2.4 isolated guest network which is actually bridged via br1 with the 5GHz VAP and also 1 wired VLAN port.
Can control them from 2.4 or 5 GHz guest networks without a problem.
This all works well on the EA8500
but also works with exact same setup on the WNDR3700v4 I'm forced to swap in as a backup when I do some fool upgrade that blows up my main router
and yea the chromycast have worked fine for me with dd-wrt for couple years now .... many many different builds --- running latest ATM.
Might be a marvell thing ??? ----I think some have also had chromycast troubles with brcm routers....
I use the other brand
oh yea the iphone or android devives work just fine to control them --- never tried from a PC --- that is why they are on the guest network... to keep the lil devils away from me ... although I've been known to connect the droidturbo to a guest network just to kill out some netflix or hulu show running nonstop after someone falls asleep with with it running
I'm running three E4200's on DD-WRT v3.0-r33986 mega (12/04/17) and having issues with Chromecast v1 and v2.
I updated to r33986 to avoid KRACK, but it took a bit before we realized there were issues with casting. I'm also having intermittent issues with Apple AirPrint - but I'm not sure if it's related or not...
I'm also trying to determine if there's a viable version to try...
I have several E3000's that I could try - but the other replies appear to indicate that wouldn't help.

Can anyone else confirm that LEDE is affected too? My next step was to try 17.04. I want something that fixes KRACK but doesn't break my CC functionality.
I have 2 Asus RT-N16, which has Broadcom BCM4716 chip rev 1. Have two multicast devices at home, one smart TV, one Wireless speaker. After upgraded, downgraded at least 3 versions in the past few days, I can confirm multicast didn't work on "DD-WRT v3.0-r40048 big (06/16/19)" and "DD-WRT v3.0-r36527 big (08/09/18)", but it worked on "DD-WRT v3.0-r33525 big (10/17/17)".
With ""DD-WRT v3.0-r40048 big (06/16/19)", after upgraded with factory defaults, multicast worked. After set the wireless security to WPA2 Personal with AES, it didn't work.
