Hi,
I really like what your are doing and I would like to get into it. I can get router for really cheap but I am pretty unlucky and each time there not compatible. Like I got one with Ubicom processor, a D-Link that is not listed on the website, and some other that are company that don’t exist anymore. So how do you make a router compatible with DD-WRT ? I know that sometime it the processor that have different architecture but if it a compatible architecture what else can make it incompatible ? Thanks for the help and your incredible work.
If a router is not supported you can try to contact the devs if they are willing to support it, in all cases you have to send them a router so that they can have a look at it.
When the R6400v2 came out and was not supported yet a bunch of guys raised money and send Kong one (I contacted him beforehand) and that is how support for that router was added to DDWRT
Of course the Netgear R6400v2 is a modern main stream router, with obscure obsolete routers the chance of getting support is nil
