There are many changes in Mesh and VHT80+80 modes. Still trying to figure out to make it work.

will NOT install on my other two WRT160NL or the E2100L I have with '->Oops: flash id 0xc22017 .'
Some tell me it's too big to flash on these routers but that is silly ---
r34311 is 7.9 MB (7885824 bytes)
r40009 is 7.7 MB (7734272 bytes)
AFAIK the WRT160NL or the E2100L will take a flash up to (7995392 bytes) but some of the stupid things just can't find the 'rootfs' these days Rolling Eyes

i tested it with 2 netgear r7800 in vht160 and vht80+80. just do it and it works. if you have a client which isnt capable of doing vht80+80 or vht160 (openwrt doesnt support it. it broken there), then it will not work, but just in vht80.

just ensure to setup the same channel of both sides and the same encryption setup and it works.
if you use openwrt on one side, do not use encryption. openwrt does not support SAE encryption with most algorithms. GCMP etc. is not supported by openwrt.

most of your tickets are simply invalid. dont ask me about problems with fq_codel. ask the developers of fq_codel. dont ask me about problems with mfp if your client device doesnt support mfp. if i use 2 dd-wrt devices with mfp enabled it works and yes iphone doesnt support mfp

consider that no vap will work in any way if mesh is not connected.

mfp ticket isnt about a "problem with mfp not working", its about a problem with mfp when using 802.11 which breaks fast roaming EVEN WHEN SET TO OPTIONAL MFP.., did u actually look at it? u need to check again cause ios devices do support mfp. all of these iphone 7 and 8 and xs/xs max in this house along with ipads all do.

@BS, Yes I was only testing between two R9000 and 2 R7800 all four in mesh which are all VHT160 and 4x4 streams supported. And NO openwrt.
The only thing I didn't try yet is the RESET. I can try that if its necessary .
And report back

UPDATE: Thanks! BS. Reset fixed the Mesh issues. I'm able to set VHT160 channel 36-64 and 100 - 128 DFS.

UPDATE2: @BS, I found an issue with R9000 Mesh VHT160 mode. It works fine without encryption. But as soon as I enable WPA the Radio shutoff in Mesh mode. Sad

UPDATE3: OK, finally I found the culprit in this build which was responsible Mesh radio shutoff.
I had this option below enabled which was the culprit. Earlier builds were just working fine with this.

802.11r / Fast BSS Transission support

This should be disabled for Mesh VHT160 to work in this build. Hope BS fixes this soon. Still I can't get internet from mesh clients which I will have to figure out.

Also, adding VAP doesn't work (unable to connect to ).
