I understand vpn opens ports to use but is there any security risks or are my port scans or ping just scanning the VPN service and not the router.
Also should those ports be stealth or a setting to keep data from outgoing.
I closed my UPD ports but find that VPNs might choose UPD or TCP depending on data needs so I may have connection issues for certain processes.

Is there a comprehensive security router settings check list?
This is on a Linksys wrt3200 DD-WRT v3.0-r37305 std

Thanks for any help.
