Quote:
People are creating threads to announce new builds without placing the proper warning at the beginning. I suspect this is being done by people who haven't had to deal with builds that have caused multiple unrecoverable bricks.

Do NOT post a thread announcing a new build without including this warning, only adapted to reflect the proper build number:

This build thread is for reporting successes and problem with loading this experimental test build. This is important info for developers and users. Always state your hardware and SPECIFIC build (e.g. 29000_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv64k.bin). Do not ask questions about your specific router or how to configure it in this thread; create your own thread to discuss any specific problems you have or need resolved. Please also do not respond to such questions. This thread is to report info, not to seek it. Posts that do not add to understanding this build will be deleted. Make sure you know how to flash properly and the risk before using this build. It is important to adhere to these requirements, to keep this thread from becoming impossibly long and useless. If you don't know what build to flash and how to flash properly and have a means of recovery if things should go wrong, do NOT flash this experimental test build.

2x R7000 here. Newer user so I'm going to post a couple of pain points, you may or may not consider them to be actual errors.

Using 2019-05-09 test build coming from NG firmware->DDWRT->Factory Reset:

* OpenVPN server form takes the "Public Server Cert" field and does dump it into cert.pem, but cert.pem is not referenced in OpenVPN.conf by default and OpenVPN server will fail to start unless "cert /tmp/openvpn/cert.pem" is manually added to the "Additional config" box.
* I think OpenVPN files (certs, etc.) seem to only be updated in filesystem after reboot, router does not recommend reboot when saving if changes were made.
* The OpenVPN config setting "management 127.0.0.1 14" is not automatically added to the OpenVPN.conf file, so the OpenVPN status page in the web UI is dead out of the box. You have to Google and dig up old posts that propose various possible ports to see what the Web UI might be expecting, the expected port is not even listed on the status UI page and probably should be.
* There seems to be no way to turn "Auto-refresh" to Off on the web UI status pages for LAN, WAN, Wireless
* The form to add static IPs for Mac addresses is _really_ bad to use unless you know that if you don't hit Save after adding each row it won't save anything. I thought it was broken for a while.
* DDNS with No-IP only works if you can find a very specific page on their site to get your host ID number and add it after your domain name. I don't know why this is, but if I hadn't found a link on the forum detailing this obscurity, I would never have got it working. I'm not sure how NG can get a valid update without this issue in their UI.
* Default port count was "32768", but the UI says the default should be 4096. As a new user, I can't tell if it went higher because this model has sufficient memory, or it's just wrong and I should lower it.
* There's no way to cancel a command once entered. Entering a command like "top" will make the web UI unusable.
* Server running the web UI died several times while setting up these 2x R7000s. Had to power cycle units, was just setting options and clicking "Save" on various pages.
* Dark style is not the default ;)

Other things:
* Built-in help is so out-of-date vs. actual options on each page that it's almost useless. Ironically, there is a lot of conflicting information on the forum, the wiki(s), the database, so this would be an ideal spot for up-to-date information to exist.

Thanks for the hard work. Uptime is already 1.5 days without any major issues, which is much better than most of NG's latest FWs...
