OK, here we are.

I have WRT54GL V1.1 installed with DD-WRT v23 SP2 (09/12/06) Special
To make sure that no old config could cause any problem I run:
mtd -r erase nvram

So, I can assume everything is set to default, so that I don't have to talk about anything I did not changed.
Now I changed :
dhcp = disabled
ssh = enabled
syslog = enabled
remote ssh management = enabled
chillispot = enable
radiusserver1 192.168.100.10
radiusserver2 192.168.100.10
radiussecret wwwXXXyyyZZZ
dhcpif br0
uamserver http://192.168.100.1/login/
uamhomepage http://192.168.100.1
dns1 192.168.100.254
uamsecret AAAbbbbCCCdddd
uamallowed 192.168.100.0/24
radiusnasid Hotspot
interval 3600
lease 300

Saving all the settings and wow, it works...since more than one year!

OK, same with all builds of v24 until RC4 (RC5/6 I newer tried). With RC7 it worked also until check_ps restarted chilli every two minutes.
But chilli itself was working.

Anyhow, with v24 final special and v24 final check_ps does not restart chilli anymore, but chilli does not work at all.

After I stopped cron (otherwise it kills my debug and restart chilli in the background) and run:
/usr/sbin/chilli --fg --debug -c /tmp/chilli.conf
to see what is going on.
But nothing, chilli starts and is awaiting requests (at least it looks like that)
And if a client, in this case my laptop, connects, nothing.
The client does not get an IP and nothing to see at the ssh-console.

To make sure it's not a problem with a single device I can reproduce it on WRT54GS V.1, WHR-H54G and three WRT54GL V1.1

And before I am getting the tipp to hard reset before and after flashing.
Yes, I did that with mtd -r erase nvram (just lazy, don't want to count all the time)

I am not sure if that is relevant for my problem but I saw VPN Modules restarting every two minutes.

That, I have newer seen before.

I hope someone is having a usefull idea how to get chilli working on v24 final

cheers

It seems to be a general problem with v24 final.
In the meantime I tried dd-wrt.v24_nokaid_special_generic.bin with the same results.

It also produce the VPN Modules messages in syslog.

Hi!
I have the same problem with WRT54GL. Upgraded to v24 SP1 from v23 SP2, and tried to restore the config. That killed the WLAN interface, the WLAN led doesn't light up. I made a reset, configured with hand. But chilli can't send dhcp-address. Sad
Any new feature that can block this?

Chillispot:
1 WHR-HP-G54 v24 (upgrade from v23 sp2) chillispot working.
1 WHR-HP-G54 v24 (micro to std) Not working

Also no luck on a fresh burn of V24 from original on a linksys WRT54GS v2 (Not sure if the v2 linksys is to old for v24). Also, unable to get a second WHR-HP-G54 (v23 sp2 or v24)set up in client bridge off the working v24 WHR-HP-G54.
I don't know why the the wireless client is unable to obtain a DHCP'ed IP from v24. I use the Web GUI so I am not a lot of help on the CLI or SSH side of things.

**Edit** I found my initial problem on the v24 new burns. STP is disabled by default. On an upgrade it keeps the settings from the previous burn, which STP is enabled by default. STP doesn't have much effect in normal usage unless your are on comcast, but Chillispot is very touchy when it comes to it being needed. This is just my intial experience. No data or information to back it up.
