kong supposedly added wnm sleep mode to bs builds, but its still not working on dir-862L.. hostapd dont start.
-bss_transition is still missing
-wifi frame compression still hasnt worked since it was added
-what was the point of adding uapsd to webif if it wasnt fixed to actually WORK? ath9k has no radio fws to deal with, it dont work there either
-ipq806x performance and latency is still a train wreck as always _________________ LATEST FIRMWARE(S)

both these routers are only--most often used as switches / opvn server / samba share
well the EA8500 also has a VLAN on 2 ports... anyways, all I'm using is worky so far.
anyone wondering --- dnsmasq is still ver 2.8.0

prolly stick this on main router, EA8500, but imma thinking 'bout time to reset/reconfig it when I do so that'll have to be afterlater sometime.
Router Model TP-Link TL-WR841ND v11
Firmware Version DD-WRT v3.0-r39715 std (05/03/19)
Kernel Version Linux 3.18.139 #39903 Fri May 3 03:51:56 CEST 2019 mips
Update from r39654 via telnet
Working OK as AP, HT40, NG-Mixed, QOS (HTB + FQCodel). Good throughput and bufferbloat.
Reset: no at first, then yes (see below)
Problems:
1. After update and reboot (no reset) wifi came back as open (unprotected). In GUI wireless security tab WPA was selected but no other option was checked/active. I selected WPA2 Personal and then CCMP-128 (AES) and it showed up WPA Shared Key, the one I had before. After save + apply setting it was all right, came back as protected wifi.
2. Still no Virtual Interfaces Add button. I then reset to factory in hope to make a difference but no luck.

local DNS

samba share ext4 USB flash drive
isolated guest network on ath0.1, ath1.1 & VLAN port 4 via br1
port range forwarding
It all seems to be working ok but when I enabled 'Recursive DNS Resolving (Unbound)' it appeared to break local DNS and also NO DNS for clients on the 5GHz wifi.
Had to get back to router by its IP and disabled unbound. Can't mess with it any more right now... too many here online.
I know unbound ver 1.9.1 worked fine on previous BS build and also Kong's unbound ver 1.9.0 ..... well besides, on both, the local DNS while connected to its ovpn server which has been broken for a year. I'll looky more at it afterlater
###
EDIT: I had to switch QOS to HFSC FQ_CODEL...... the HTB PIE ain't worh a crap with this build on my 50/50 connection

u have that now too? thats what unbound always did and still does to me, is why i cant use it.. apparently its supposed to be some port binding problem with it and dnsmasq & a user posted a easy patch, but devs gave a flat out "no wont fix" without a reason _________________ LATEST FIRMWARE(S)

this is first time I ever seen unbound break like that
###
EDIT:
oh I see ... with r39715, If enable unbound must do a reboot and then he works just fine ...
...but still NO local DNS thru its ovpn server.
Oh well, that's the main reason why I keep other ovpn servers active on WAPs

for the first time since this k4.x mess, i can actually use hfsc+fq_codel and get my entered download of near 320mbps. shocking..
now if fq_codel's upload would stop being wasteful and get me the 15mbps+ i entered instead of 13.5..
sfe on vs off?
was supposed to be in kong build thread got them mixed up, bs build is still broken.
sfe doesnt work with qos on, does run at all, unless manually started, then its still only working with upload only as usual. at least for me anyway.. _________________ LATEST FIRMWARE(S)
