I am throwing in the towel on this one! I was lucky and grabbed up a lot of 5 Netgear R7300DST Routers from Ebay for a good price. Before I bought them I quickly looked and thought that I could install dd-wrt on them but my stupidity led me to find out the hard way that I didn't check to make sure that the R7000 dd-wrt version would work on the R7300. All of the routers work great but my goal was to use them as repeater bridges which of course is not an option with the stock firmware. None of the third party firmware options support this specific model due to supposed security features in the bootloader that prevent third party firmware from being installed as well an issue with the use of an internal power supply that could lead to the board burning up. I would be especially grateful to anyone who has any information about installing dd-wrt on this router or at least generate further discussions about what steps need to be taken to get this unit working to its full potential. I am clueless when it comes to programming or "mods" of devices. I hope that Kong or Brainslayer or anyone of the other Gurus can come up with a solution because I am personally out of options. Thanks for taking time to read this post. Here are the specs that I could find for this router..

Hardware donation and (more) homework, and convincing BrainSlayer to consider porting it.

Looks like they have the same Board ID (U12H270 T00).

What happens when you flash the R7000 FW?

Necro update with amplifying information (there is still currently no DD-WRT support for this device).

The R7300DST has 128KB of nvram, the R7000 has 64KB:

New Kong's build: DD-WRT 29875M - 2016/06/11 - page 2

New Kong's build: DD-WRT 29875M - 2016/06/11 - page 3

Not a new question, as I have discovered:

Nighthawk R7300 DD-WRT Flash Firmware?

Any support for Netgear R7300?

Just picked up a Netgear R7300DST, need help!

R7300DST dd-wrt?
