Hi all,

This is my first post here, so I apologize in advance if I somehow forget something regarding the forum rules, though I've read all stickies. Rolling Eyes

I'm running DD-WRT v3.0-r37015M kongac (09/23/1Cool on my Netgear R7000 with DDNS, some iptables rules, dhcp forwarding, nothing really fancy and have been happy with Kong's DD-WRT from the start. I seem to have a very strange problem however the 'Turning off radio' option under SES / AOSS / EZ-SETUP / WPS Button in the Services menu.

When I enable this feature, everything keeps working fine for some while, but after 8 - 10 hours, my router freezes up completely. The web interface is not reachable anymore and there's no more internet traffic. Doing a hard reset, a 30-30-30, I've tried everything, but I can't seem to solve this problem. Also, I can not correlate this to anything I see in the syslogs.

Do other people here experience this issue aswell?

Probably not related, but you write you use DHCP forwarding, but there is virtually no use case for DHCP forwarding in SOHO routing.

You probably better disable DHCP

It's better to always power off then on the router after making changes to wireless settings. I think altering some other services might need to do the same. Smile

Good one, yeah.. the computers should be able to find the DHCP by broadcasting, so no need really for forwarding.

Did you see the note about having to enable the Reset button on the Admin tab?

You can also use the button to run your own script.

Cheers.

Thanks for pointing that one out. I've checked this and the Reset button option was already enabled. The functionality of enabling/disabling the wifi does work, it only crashes after a while.

Both my 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz LED's are on (even though both radio's are disabled). When I press the WPS button for some seconds, the lights go out. Wifi is effectively disabled and enabled again when I long press the WPS button.

I've also tried powering the router off after changing the wireless settings and back on, but the issue still occurs. Unfortunately, the syslogs are empty on reboot and I haven't succeeded in getting them to an external source. If you have any suggestions on troubleshooting or pinpointing I would gladly try them out.
