Does anyone work on firmware for TP-LINK TL-WR845N v1. It's a new router based on WR841N. I will be glad to test it.

Thanks in advance.

You can flash this router via TFTP using one of the 2 files. This has only been tested once, not by me. You should be able to upgrade via the webupgrade file for the 841ND v11.

Works perfectly on my TL-WR845N V1. Flashed using TFTP Method. WAN (DHCP & PPPoE) are working too. Thanks a lot for posting the firmware.

Sorry, could I flash that .bin file directly via webflash (through firmware upgrade in the GUI)?

Thank you.

More than most likely the TP-Link firmware will give you an error code of 18005 if you try to flash my modified file, through the webGUI. If you flash it via TFTP, it should work though.

I couldn't get the right timing to push the file. I've tried many times but seems nothing happened.

Or do I need to 30-30-30 reset before flashing via TFTP?

The next step would be serial and TFTP. You will need to open the case and hook up one of these or something similar (USB-UART 3.3V): https://www.adafruit.com/product/954

I flashed my router via TFTP, worked great! Thanks!

I merged the instructions from here and here to get it working. I ran the following steps:

1. Downloaded your firmware
2. Copied it to C:\TEMP and renamed the file to wr845nv1_tp_recovery.bin
3. Installed Tftpd32 with the tftpd64 installer
4. Connected a UTP-cable to a LAN port (not WAN)
5. Changed my laptop's LAN IP address to 192.168.0.66 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0
6. Ran Tftpd32, clicked "Browse" and browsed to C:\TEMP, selected the LAN interface with IP address 192.168.0.66, clicked "Show Dir", then clicked the wr845nv1_tp_recovery.bin file
7. On the router, powered off, pressed the Reset button, powered on, waited about 2 seconds, then clicked "Copy" on Tftpd32
8. Router flashed and rebooted itself, I browsed to http://192.168.1.1
9. Success!

Once again, thanks!

How does the router identify itself on the Router Status page?

You should be able to upgrade to a newer build using that router's webupgrade file. See the link in my signature.

I'm running r38840 on my TL-WR845N v1 and it's rock solid. Consider trying it.
