I have a TL-WR740N v2.5 and downloaded the latest dd-wrt firmware for it.
I'm having a problem with a second router with dd-wrt using the WAN to connect to a PPTP,L2TP server how do I found out on the router the status, details of the attempted connection? On the WAN Status page it has connected however I do not get a WAN IP from the VPN Server and I don't have internet access on my computer. (While connecting the WAN by static IP to the first router works and gets a WAN IP (LAN IP of the first router and there is internet.)
When PPTP,L2TP in the router I can do a traceroute to the VPN server and in general nslookup of sites look ok but I'm unsure if that is because of the internet in the first router or if it is from the PPTP, L2TP connection. (On the VPN's Server's website (I don't have access to the server itself) they don't show in my billing that I've actually connected...
Only thing "error" related in the log that I can see is:
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface

For "If possible, I would try some other device, say a Windows client behind that same router, and verify it can connect to that same PPTP server, and has a different public IP from that of your primary router. It would help to see your router PPTP config as well. Perhaps you've made an obvious error. "
You mean to have the second router without the WAN as PPTP (and lets say just static IP) and then test another client connected to that router..., correct?
Decided to first test it using it on my computer from my first router and even that is failing. The VPN Server is by another party, so I'll contacting them to see what is happening. (PPTP passthrough is enabled on both routers, the dd-wrt did have it disabled and I had to enable it.) If/when I hear from them I'll let you know.
