hello, I last used r38581 on my buffalo wzr-1750dhp. But I've had the problem for some time and not just since this firmware, that the clients regularly disconnect and then re-connect. I have already put all other router / AP in my house offline and still the problem. where can you start here? with the old fritzbox there was not the problem. in the buffalo ddwrt it is eal whether 2,4 or 5ghz - it occurs very regularly.

I got closer to the problem. I changed the 2,4ghz band to 20mhz. so it seems to run more stable.
But that can not be the solution in this day and age.

Well if it is crowded on the 2.4 GHz band (and it usually is) 40 MHz can be problematic.

Some things to consider:

Do not use auto channel, that is the cause of a lot of problems.

Find a free channel with wifi analyser on your phone or use Status/Wireless/Site survey

Always use WPA2-PSK AES security setting

Set rekey interval on wireless security tab to 0

If this is not helping do a full reset of your router and put settings in manually

I had the same problem with mine which is actually a leading reason I switched from factory to community version. As an additional tip, don't use the same SSID for both 2.4 and 5 Ghz. That seemed to amplify my problems. Some devices ran more stable than others but 5GHz devices had the most issues. Usually they received "Authentication errors" and would stop trying to connect. Also, review the wiki and set your wifi settings line-by-line to the recommended settings vs the defaults.
There is light at the end of the tunnel - now mine actually works great!

If I am not mistaken you have a Broadcom/Arm router, on the Wireless/Wireless Security tab there is a setting: Key Renewal Interval (sec) which defaults to 3600 (I think) try setting it to 0. This is the re-key interval
