So no error code from webUI flashing?
Are you using a standalone browser in
private browsing mode? Cache cleared?
Did you try disabling the firewall / security?
Did you try from the v150304 version?
Did you try the factory-to-dd-wrt-IL.bin?
I am failing to see what is blocking this.
My laptop is running 20H2 and with FF ESR
and Pale Moon Portable, no issues. I guess
you could try Pale Moon portable 32-bit.
Firefox ESR portable is another likely option. _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity"

>So no error code from webUI flashing?<
No, it says it was successful and to wait for the reboot to finish.
>Are you using a standalone browser in
private browsing mode?<
No, just my usual Firefox browser in normal mode.
>Cache cleared?<
Sometimes. Enough to feel one of the many attempts should have succeeded.
>Did you try from the v150304 version?<
Yes, a couple of times yesterday, plus that was the version I recovered to (following the instructions in the link you kindly provided today) after 'bricking' it. But I used v150427 after that because that's what the wiki specifies.
>Did you try the factory-to-dd-wrt-IL.bin?<
Once, same result.
Not sure why the browser mode or firewall/security would be an issue since I have flashed v150427 (many times), v150304 twice and have no trouble using TFTP. I also successfully used the webgui to upgrade to the most current tplink version a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely correct me if I'm wrong on this.

And, there is the problem. Didn't TP-Link block upgrading to DD-WRT or Downgrading the TP-Link firmware in recent firmware upgrades? _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? I suggest reading it all.

>And, there is the problem. Didn't TP-Link block upgrading to DD-WRT or Downgrading the TP-Link firmware in recent firmware upgrades?<
True, from the current firmware I could not flash anything but a TP-Link firmware upgrade using the webgui. But I followed the wiki instructions to use TFTP to downgrade to the way old TP-Link v150427, which does not enforce those restrictions.
So I can now load dd-wrt firmware onto the router. But using TFTP while TFTP thinks the file was loaded, on the router side it's as if it never happened and the TP-Link firmware is still in charge. And if I use the webgui to load the firmware, it says "oh good for you success wait while we reboot" and then goes out for a never-ending lunch.
I did lot of reboot restore on that unit. Basically, if you have a working firm now.
1- log in, admin, factory reset.
2- log to 192...1.1 put a password
3- upload ; tplink-archer-c7-v2.bin. no il no us.
4- log in to 1.1 after 2min.
5- set psw
6- admin, click factory reset.
7- redo 4 - 5
7.5 - admin - reboot.
8- set 1 wifi at a time, save, save apply
9- set 1 wifi pasword at a time, save, save apply.
10- admin - reboot.
11- unplug power.
12- wifi work and do 1 change at a time.
i just update the 26may firm and if you don't process as this, you got bug, setting not fully apply and start chasing ghost and waste 3hr.
hope that help.

TFTP server running on the computer will says the file was sent successfully even if the router rejects the file (wrong name, etc). In order to see why it is rejected it is best to open up the router and connect serial to it (USB-TLL, no 3.3V or 5V connected. See the openwrt wiki page for the Archer C7 for the pinout. _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? I suggest reading it all.
