Dear all,
DD-wrt is great.
I have been using it on a TP-Link TL-WR1043ND for a long time.
Today the wifi adapter has simple disappeared from the ifconfig list, and also is no longer there in the web interface.
Can a mechanical problem cause this?

I have updaed firmware to the latest, but it makes no difference.

Thanks for any help!

What Wi-Fi settings are you using?

Most likely you have the wrong settings applied....

See my link in my signature for hints.

There are no more wifi settings anywhere in the interface -- I only have eth0 and no wifi-related settings in the web interface!
Is it possible for the wifi adapter to disappear?

Try to reset the router and configure from scratch.

I had this happen to my 1043nd. I can't remember how I solved it though. Reset, flash via Serial/TFTP. No idea.

Best bet, get a new router. Archer C7 v2-4 (Atheros), or v5(Mediatek) are decent dual-band, basic routers.
High-end: Netgear R7800.

1043ND V1 has horribly unstable radios though. Mine never had an uptime greater than about 3 hours, vs a DIR-615 > week.

I was heading towards this direction myself, and in case case after factory reset it doesn't seem to get a new IP, so I think it's game over!

Thanks for the hints everyone

All TP-link routers have the same problem, small flash space.
