Router Model: Netgear Nighthawk X10 R9000
Firmware Version: DD-WRT v3.0-r38381 std (01/24/19)
Kernel Version: Linux 4.9.152 #286 SMP Thu Jan 24 04:10:41 CET 2019 armv7l
No Reset; upgrade gui from 38253.
Switched to HTB/SFQ for QOS.
Has the lowest latency results, and the spikes aren't as drastic.
Still not Fiber quality, but getting decent for coax. 150/10

so far seems better than the last two builds which had major gremlins...
Waiting for tomorrow and the daily cron reboot at 3AM to see if the gremlins come and kill the Cable Card IP tuner... _________________ FORUM RULES

Status: So far, it's running fine. I'll do more tests. The SQM / FQ_CODEL function is better than the stable version (28-10-10 / 2018). That was one of the reasons I used this trial version. If the DD-WRT team achieved a SQM / FQ_CODEL performance equal to the LEDE 17.05 / 18.06 it would really be a GREAT achievement. But it's good.
Reset: No.
Errors: No. Until now. I feel that the internet has been a bit slower. But it is acceptable.

Kernel Version Linux 3.18.132 #31018 Thu Jan 24 09:26:56 CET 2019 mips
update: via GUI
reset: yes + manual rebuild
status: bad... multiple wi-fi issues with various clients reverted to 38326 for a test and will stay on it for a while...
errors: multiple wi-fi issues...mem too low
38347 was fine but 38381 after 2 days started to have wi-fi issues needs restart and noticed mem was low too, i suspect may be memleak but nothing in syslog...
well test are done i had multiple Wi-Fi issues with various clients i'm about to revert back to 38347 or 38326 that's it....
reset/rebuild didn't help at all, the odd thing it was ok for about a day now its not + nothing helps mem gets down to 22-25k witch is very unusual for my setup...
after nvram erase manually rebuild my setting on 38326 all is ok, so far free mem is back to normal values _________________ Atheros

Works perfectly. Running OpenVPN on it, and experimenting with stubby and DNScrypt as well. No issues so far. _________________ Active devices:

If you installed 38326 or 38347, I have a feeling settings got bunked and you will need to perform a factory reset to defaults and load your stuff up again. Those two builds had gremlins in them for sure with regards to the wifi driver. Also try following my recommended QCA wifi settings in my signature; with the exception you can only do VHT40 on 5ghz on your router. _________________ FORUM RULES

Would this also work for the issue where apparently the combination of MAC whitelist and non-broadcast of SSID results in no wifi found?
I installed this build, and again - there was no wifi (ad least not detected by wifi devices), so I had to revert back to r37736 (which was in my case the last version with wifi working).

This is only a 2.4ghz router, plus it's a weirdo 3x3:3 that only a select few clients can use all 3 streams... Only a handful of Apple laptops/desktops have 3x3:3. Nearly all tablets/phones are 1x1:1 or 2x2:2.
This means you won't be able to get more than 300Mbps connections on wifi.
I don't know if this router truly supports turboQAM 256 (but it is a QCA chipset), so I would disable that feature if it is in the settings. HT20 will further limit your speeds to 144.4Mbps for 2x2:2 or 72.2Mbps for 1x1:1 clients. The router should be able to support HT40; though most cell phones limit 2.4Ghz to only allow HT20...Apple very guilty of this, so does Samsung and Google. HT40 in 2.4ghz is very rare to achieve unless you run very new hardware that has been rooted with custom ROM's to allow for it. Functioning HT40 is really rare to find on a client. This is true even for the newest and best routers with AC for the 2.4GHZ radios. What is nice is that with DD-wrt you can force HT40 and take advantage of it, most commercial/home use routers won't even do HT40 if they sense another router close by. _________________ FORUM RULES
