Hi,
I'm new on DD-wrt and new on this forum, i was wondering if somebody could answer my question here,
i setup my Linksys wrh54G to be a wireless access point and followed all instructions connection for devices that connected via LAN are good but wireless device like phones and laptops are not able to get IP addresses.
I tried assigning static IPs on those devices but still it won't connect to internet.
any help would be appreciated.
Thank You!
Maybe you are mistaken on the terms...A Wireless Access Point is just that, an Access point
DHCP "hand out addresses" is handled by the "Gateway" the WAP is hooked up to.....That is unless you want it on a different subnet....But then it actually is another simple gateway
Is this your set-up? Is it hooked up to another router configured as a Gateway? Before your modem out to the internet
The fact that your lan gets addresses by the WAP directly, points to a misconfiguration....
Which leads back to @egc's questions.. _________________ Location 1
