Hi,

Sometimes the OpenVPN client disconnects, no mater what parameters I throw in configuration :
resolv-retry infinite
persist-key
persist-tun
...

I don't know any internal VPN IP to use the dd-wrt watchdog function and force a router reboot. So I have two options :

1) force ICMP (ping) through tun0 so I can use watchdog. Don't know if it's possible ...

2) have a script scheduled with cron to check vpn status and restart openvpn service

Any idea ?

Yes there is a VPN watchdog script which restarts the VPN when it is down.
It is made by Sploit. Google for that(DDWRT sploit watchdog VPN or something like that).

Must have it somewhere lying around.

Let me know if you can not find it and I will try to dig it up.
If you have found it post the link here for future reference and mark the thread as [SOLVED] if it is working Smile

Thanks !
How didn't find it myself ? Sad

Last night I found another solution running a script on my NAS that ssh's into dd-wrt and stop/starts OpenVPN service ( here)

But this one seems better if I find how to pass through the firewall to reach pushbullet api
