Performed Web Upgrade, Awaiting for it to revert back after reboot. I'll need to Serial Flash this FW twice. But so far so good. I think I'll stick to kong's builds instead of BS as it seems to be more stable. _________________ WRT54GL v1.1 - Flashed

Router Model: Netgear R6400v1
Firmware Version: DD-WRT v3.0-r38100M kongac (12/27/2018)
Kernel Version: Linux 4.4.169 #627 SMP Thu Dec 27 12:57:28 CET 2018 armv7l
Upgraded: from DD-WRT v3.0-r37985M kongac (12/16/2018) via ddup --flash-latest
Reset: No not this time
Status: Up and running 20 days, basic setup as Gateway, static leases, Advanced routing, Port Forwarding, IPv4 and IPv6 with PD, DynDNS, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz
GUI is responsive and quick.
I tested almost every Kong build since I bought this router back in october/2018. Even on the most basic configurations (just change SSID name and security for 2.4 and 5GHz wireless), wireless connections are unstable.
I always do a factory reset (erase nvram + reboot) between flashes.
On 2.4GHz network, connection drops every 3 or 5 minutes. Tested on a Dell XPS notebook and on a Moto Z Play 2016.
On 5GHz network, connection is more stable, doesn't drop. But I get many TX errors logged on the interface wl1.
I also tested some Brainslayer builds, same errors as Kong.
Everything works flawlessly with Netgear stock firmware, wich I'm using now for a stable network.
Could be a driver problem on DD-WRT? Have you ever seen something like that?
@Epihanor It depends on the hardware unfortunately. For example on my Asus RT-AC68U from 2014 the current drivers work very well, best wifi signal I've ever had and I tried various firmwares for it.

Not saying that this will fix all your problems but..
Your method of reset rewrite's most of the nvram back from ram when you reboot!!!
The method starting a little before 04/18 is now nvram erase only through telnet or SSH on both <Kong> & BrainSlayer builds
Just to add... the most important time to do this is
After coming from stock
After flashing current build...I preferer after a second reboot
All above assumes that you do not have a router that is adversely affected by ether commands....search &/or check the wiki to see if this is the case first _________________ Location 1

Router: Asus RT-AC3200
Firmware Version DD-WRT v3.0-r38100M kongac (12/27/18)
Kernel VersionLinux 4.4.169 #627 SMP Thu Dec 27 12:57:28 CET 2018 armv7l
Previous Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r37985M kongac 12/16/18
Mode/Status: Gateway / AP / IPsec
Upgrade Method: "ddup --flash-latest". No 'erase nvram'
Reset: Soft Reboot after ddup and then Power Cycle
Uptime: 55 minutes
CPU Temp pre-upgrade: CPU 55.0 °C (using laptop cooler at minimum fan speed)
CPU Temp post-upgrade: CPU 55.0 °C (using laptop cooler at minimum fan speed)
Errors/Issues:
IPSEC continues to suffer issues when upgrading. After update I cannot connect to the VPN from an external IP address. Strangely, if my device (iPhone) is connected to the wifi and I attempt to connect to the VPN it connects. If I go to Services->VPN and then disable the Kong IPSEC server, save settings, apply, then re-enable, save settings and apply it begins to work correctly from an external IP. Unfortunately, after rebooting the router the same behaviour returns. I don't have time to factory reset and manually reconfigure to determine if that resolves the problem. I'll do that when I get a spare moment, but I'm highly supsicious it will resolve the issue. _________________ RT-AX86U MerlinWRT & RT-AC68U DD-WRT
