Hello, I am interested in buying a dd-wrt router, since I have a TP-LINK TL-WR841HP that is not compatible with the firmware.
I was thinking of buying a TP-Link TL-WR841N v9.2 since it is economical and has a hardware superior to 2MB of Flash and 4MB of RAM.
In any case, I wanted to install dd-wrt because I need to add latency to a specific device in my network (10ms of ping for example) and what I was finding out can be done using the "tc" command in the command console , I found this very useful page that tells me how to put them, but also in the forum I found people that used these commands and the router didn't respond.
Is it worth to buy this router for what I want to do? Will I have this problem that the command does not work for me? I need to know that before buying.
Thank you.
The following are atheros with more flash space, so you can run DD-WRT, Gargoyle, OpenWRT: wndr3700v2, wndr3700v4, wndr3800, wndr4300v1, wndrmacv2, archer-c7v2, archer-c7v4, archer-c7v5, WD-mynet750
I saw some of those for $13 on ebay. Anyway, with so much more space, you can load more software if you need to. _________________ R6250 with fan on; wifi off

I have a TL-WR841N v.11 and for what I paid for it I couldn't do better. It's suboptimal for my internet connection subscription since I have 300 Mbps Down / 100 Mbps up fiber and 841N WAN port is only 100 Mbps, but for my needs is perfectly fine. It handles about 50 Mbps Down / 60 Mbps Up on wifi with QOS. I play Quake Champions every evening on wifi only (have no LAN reaching my PC, only a wifi adapter stick) while my wife watches Netflix on TV (wifi also) or uses Facetime. My v.11 has a little faster CPU than v.9 (650 vs 550 Mhz) though, but you get the idea.

yep Archer c7 is good single core all-rounder for low speed connections (WAN traffic)
i recon get anything like Netgear R7000, or R7800
even on second hand....
you wont find any better router than those...
for gaming and WAN/VPN speeds, dual core is much better... _________________ Atheros
