|
Hello all, first post. I did some searching but cannot find a comprehensive list of routers that support the OpenVPN client.
I have three routers so far, a grizzled old wrt54gv8 that has seen some sh*t, a cisco/linksys e900 I bought used for $15 and both of these support OpenVPN client to PIA (private internet access), but I recently purchased a new TP Link TL-wr940n only to discover that it is limited to PPTP and has no option for openvpn client.
I did manage to configure the router to connect to vpn using PPTP but i prefer OpenVPN for a number of reasons.
Additionally I am looking for a router I can buy in bulk, blast out a config and resell preconfigured for VPN Routing.
I live in ecuador and there are lots of people down here interested in pribate browsing and also bypassing region restrictions.
Is there a list of (cheap) routers that can still be bought new that supports OpenVPN Client mode?
P.S. Flashing the TP-Link took less time than the unboxing. Great work to all the conmtribut to this project. |

cheap router that supports VPN well this animal does not exist....
the best hit will be to look at the forum to ask ggl and add ddwrt to your question, or just to look for Netgear R7000 second hand from amazon or ebay and do keep in mind you missed some reading so if there are more questions they might be answered somewhere and you are not the first one who ask them..... _________________ Atheros
