I apologize, I didn't realize that a build for the A7 v5 appeared with the r37932 builds. Thanks for the hard work on this guys, it's very appreciated. Cheers!
I got V5 (EU) as my new main router. I can confirm that the router bricks after saving settings (and reboot) on latest r38326. It enters an infite bootloop (probably kernel panic?).There isn't such problem on r37932.
PS.
Did some testing. It's only the latest revision that bricks the router. Beta r38326 is a bit larger than the previous r38253 which works properly.

Does anyone tried to install DD-WRT fw 01-18-2019-r38326 on TP-Link Archer C7 v5 router?
I didn't have success, even worse, my router was bricked, luckily Archer has built-in TFTP client and I've managed to easily recover my router from this state.
Then I managed to install previous version of DD-WRT firmware 01-10-2019-r38253 but with this version WiFi 5GHz does not work at all, also I noticed that Ethernet led doesn't show link state properly for some of the ports, for example led indicator for port 3 and 4 is always on, even when there is no connected cables and this not a big deal because all ports are functional, but like I mentioned WiFi 5GHz does not work at all and it looks to me like wifi firmware kind of issue, so I would like to know does anyone else has the same issue and is it known when we can expect a solution for it?
dmesg log:

Also I've tried with OpenWRT and with proper kernel module and firmware for the atheros wifi adapter everything is working as expected!

5GHz band works at my v5, but is not reliable. I have the same error at my dmesg output. You should chose proper channels at WIFI setting for 5GHz radio to work. Do not leave it on auto.
Hello, unfortunately all the downloads in "other download" web interface are empty from some days.
I've found a working dd-wrtv2 HTTPS downloads (latest is r38535) but right now my serial interface is broken so can't risk to brick the C7 starting from factory firmware. Some advice ? Thanks

Flash factory-to-ddwrt.bin from the stock firmare and you should be up and running.
In case of a bad flash you don't need a serial cable. This router can be debricked using tftp. You just have to use the lan cable that came with the router and have a Gbit Ethernet port on your pc.
PS
AFAIK r37961 is the most stable beta till now for v5. There's only some minor cosmetic issues with the LAN LEDs.
r38253 slows down after some hours on my device. Even telnet becomes unresponsive.
I can be sure that 12-12-2018-r37961 version works fine and not bricks. Work web gui update from tp-link sotck firmware. Works wifi in 2.4 and 5Ghz... etc...
somebody has try the last version and can say the same!

Hi understracker,
In this svn post, you mentioned that r37961 has problem with 5Ghz. Do have any firmware recommendation that has stable 5Ghz? I really need 5Ghz on my device. Thanks!
