I bought an Asus RT-AC57U (Solod by Amazon in europe). It has the same specifications RT-AC1200GU does, in fact they even copied and pasted the name. "Package Content (for RT-AC57U): RT-AC1200GU Gigabit Router"

https://www.asus.com/Networking/RT-AC57U/specifications/
https://www.asus.com/Networking/RT-AC1200GU/specifications/

How can I tell if it uses the same Broadcom SOC like RT-AC1200G+ or MediaTek like RT-AC1200GU?
Does it or will it support dd-wrt?

Thanks.

I am out of my area here but I haven't found anything out about that router. Google or WikiDevi were no help. One way to find out might be open it up and look at the chips. The Broadcom G+ says "WIP" on supported device page probably means don't hold your breath. As you can see by the fact there have only been a dozen posts in this forum in a month, the Ralink/Mediatek devices are not widely popular or supported by DD-wrt members. If you want DD-WRT best to buy a supported device.

I found this link:

https://wikidevi.com/wiki/List_of_Padavan_firmware_supported_devices

It seems it is a MediaTek MT7621AT @ 880 MHz 2 cores
