Hi dd-wrt team,
In my home router (x86-64 based), I use /etc/hosts for ad-blocks, so there are >60,000 entries mapping to 0.0.0.0 inside.
And I also use dnsmasq for DNS caching.
So, what is the best number for 'cache-size='? Should it be larger than the count of entries in /etc/hosts?
There was a similar question, but nobody answer:

hmm... cache size im not so sure it works on every router check it with ps if it shows your selected size than it works...i use cache-size=5120 on my R7800
but in syslog says daemon.info dnsmasq[825]: started, version 2.80 cachesize 5120
but in CLi is says
dnsmasq -u root -g root --conf-file=/tmp/dnsmasq.conf --cache-size=1500 --dhcp-option=252," "
so not very clear is it interchangeable at all
also about DNSmasq and additional options box

as well if you use adblocking scripts most of them use space in nvram but there must be a way how to move those entries on USB if so...personally i use nvram and adblocking script _________________ Atheros
