Is there a way to increase the command line history using HISTFILE, HISTFILESIZE and HISTSIZE?

Is there an “.ash_profile” file that is places somewhere I would add a command like this “export HISTFILE='/opt/root/.ash_history' ”?
If this isn’t the correct file and path any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the help.

After reading all over the DD-WRT forum and other sources for the past couple of days it can't be changed in the DD-WRT BusyBox ash. It appears that the only way to increase command line history is to down load the bash shell and switch to it at ssh login. I believe in order to have command line history in ash the feature had to have been selected at compile time.
