I recently reconfigured my network and reflashed my router cleanly.
Consequently, I have a problem that I think I might have solved before (but too long ago to remember).

My phone and my thermostat are on the lower speed wifi, and both lose wireless occasionally. I have a smart tv on the 5 ghz band, it doesn't seem to have the same problem, though since I don't use it all the time, it might.
Anyway, does anyone have recommendations to making the wireless channel not apparently swim in and out of connectivity? I'm running a very current (10/10/1Cool build.

No real direct straight answer because could be one or many things going on

You could try:
Pick a different and/or narrower channel
Move or stop using your.....microwave, cordless phone, baby monitor, bluetooth device or anything else that may be broadcasting or emitting interference on or near the 2.4mhz band...some microwave ovens are way worse than others
Or...dare I suggest....try a somewhat older build

Hope this helps

Well I do have a microwave and I did use it once today (lol), but none of the other stuff. However, I live in town, so my neighbors could also be part of my problem. Not sure how to get rid of their devices? Smile

Try these settings and see how it goes.

Under Basic Settings for 5GHz

Wireless Network Mode = AC/N mixed
Wireless Channel = auto
Channel Width = wide HT 40
Extension Channel = upper/lower
Explicit Beamforming = enable
Implicit Beamforming = enable

Under WLO-Advanced for 5GHz
Basic Rate = All

Under Basic Settings for 2.4GHz

Wireless Network Mode = NG- Mixed
Wireless Channel = auto
Channel Width = wide HT 40
Extension Channel = upper

Under WL1-Advanced for 2.4GHz
Basic Rate = All

Thank you Beamie, I think I found the error (with some googling). I'll also check my config against your supplied options (and google them), who knows what else I threw away with the old configuration.

Apparently wireless calling (and possibly other features) do not play well with opendns dns servers. I found someone with similar problems and edited my dns configuration this morning at 2 am. Haven't had a problem in the last 6 hours (which is about 3x normal interval).
I had definitely changed the dns servers in my rebuild, who would have guessed.
